Design grounded in horticulture

Alastair Henderson has a huge enthusiasm and drive for designing outstanding gardens, a skill developed during his study of horticulture that ultimately led to a first class honours degree in Landscape and Garden Design from Writtle University College.

Alastair worked for award-winning SGD registered practice Aralia for over eight years, joining in 2012 and gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience working on domestic and commercial landscapes and gardens.

He achieved MSGD status in 2018 and at the end of 2020 established his own design practice, taking on independent projects as well as collaborating with Aralia on existing ones.

Today his work covers the full design journey, from early concepts and detailed drawings through to planting design and close involvement during installation. Alongside projects in London and across East Anglia and the surrounding counties, his experience includes work in France and Switzerland.
